How We Help

Each year SAVE, A Friend to Homeless Animals helps countless animals by providing them a safe haven until loving, adoptive homes can be found. Our services to the animals include:

  • Spaying/Neutering all of our animals before they are adopted
  • Preventative health care including all vaccinations, de-worming, heartworm, flea and tick preventatives, and leukemia and FIV testing
  • Advanced medical care for injured or ill animals to give them a second chance at life
  • Positive behavioral training when needed to help make our animals more adoptable
  • Fostering opportunities to give our neediest animals an alternative to shelter living

We also offer important services to the human members of our communities including:

  • Humane education programs in area schools
  • We are the only shelter in the region that will accept pet surrenders when an owner can no longer care for their pet

SAVE relies on private donations from individuals in our community to contribute over 90% of the annual budget to operate our shelter and organization. Donations are always welcome and greatly appreciated. Find out how you can help.
